DAVID KWAO-SARBAH
David Kwao-Sarbah is a cultural development specialist committed to advancing African arts and heritage. He is a member of the Arts Council of African Studies Association (ACASA), USA, and has presented at its 17th and 18th Triennial Conferences, including “Museums and Contemporary Africa”, and “Producing the African Nation through Cultural Institutions”.
He served as Director of Operations and Development for the first International Conference on African Culture and Development (ICACD) in Kumasi, facilitating collaboration among artists, cultural practitioners, and heritage professionals. He was selected to participate in the African Union Roundtable on African Cultural Institutions during the 2nd AU Conference of Ministers of Culture in Algiers in 2008. He was also nominated to the first Arterial Network Winter School in Cape Town 2009, and contributed to drafting the Network’s constitution and developing the Arts Advocacy & Networking Toolkit, reinforcing his commitment to culture-led development across Africa.
From 2012-2015 he served on the Steering Committee of the Arterial Network of South Africa, supporting creative networks across the continent. David’s work centers on leveraging culture to strengthen identity, knowledge exchange, and sustainable development in Africa.
